DREAM DESTINATIONS IF MONEY WERE NO OBJECT

Don’t we all dream of traveling wherever our hearts would take us? Just quitting your day job, grab your passport and hop on a plane too…. hmmmm.. where too?

Underneath I will show you some of my favorite destinations if I had the time and money to go. Hopefully giving you some inspiration along the way.

BORA BORA, FRENCH POLYNESIA

If you are after a tropical island escape, then you need to look no further than Bora Bora, a picturesque French Polynesian island considered by many to be the finest in the South Pacific.

The island lies just northwest of Tahiti, less than an hour away by plane from Papeete.

It offers white beaches, crystal clear waters, and beautiful lagoons, filled with colorful fishes and (for the more adventures people) sharks.

Undoubtedly the most celebrated island in the South Pacific. And definitely, a place that I hope to witness one day.

ANTARTICA

I know that this won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but seeing Antartica is high on my wish list.

Antarctica, the world’s southernmost continent, is almost wholly covered by an ice sheet and is about 5.5 million square miles (14.2 million square km) in size. It is home to Penguins, Elephant Seals, Killer Whales, Albatrosses and loads of other birds.

Only accessible on a multi-day cruise from Ushuaia in Southern Argentina, a trip to the world’s most isolated continent will typically add up to $10.000,- or more.

A WILDLIFE SAFARI, SOUTH-AFRICA

The ultimate place to go on a safari is too South-Africa. There they have some of the largest national wildlife and nature parks.

Kruger Park is South-Africa’s most exciting African safari destination. This is mainly because it is home to Afrika’s Big Five: Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard, and the Buffalo.

The park is also home to countless elegant lodgings that cater to the world’s elite. The best of the lot may well be Richard Branson’s very own Ulusaba, which charges an astonishing $2,000 per night (19,364.00 ZAR) a place us normal people, can only dream of visiting one day.

THE AMAZON

The magical Amazon in Brazil is a place you must visit at least once in your life. Also known as Selva, it is the largest rainforest on earth. It is so immense that it is spread over nine countries: Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, Ecuador, and French-Guyana.

The rainforest is the ideal habitat for approximately one-third of all animal species in the world. To date, there have been identified approximately 56.000 species of plants, 1700 bird species, 695 amphibian species, 578 mammal species and 651 reptile species.

MALDIVES

We all have heard, read and day-dreamed about the Maldives.
With its breathtaking white beaches and crystal clear water, the Maldives is the ultimate honeymoon destination.

But why wait till you get married?

Hotels on these islands are from unrivaled luxury. Your own overwater bungalow with a slide going right into the turquoise ocean is not a rarity.

PATAGONIA, CHILE, AND ARGENTINA

Part of South America’s southern frontier, Patagonia is a rouged mountain terrain divided over two countries (Chile and Argentina). It is perfect for trekking (either on foot or on horseback) and you can get up close to some of the most breathtaking glaciers.

Patagonia is famous for being among the most expensive regions in the continent, largely due to its isolation.

You can spend the nights outdoors by a roaring campfire and sleep in a tent, or for the more privileged travelers, you can choose from plenty of upscale eco-resorts and even hire porters to carry your gear on a trek.

Easter Island, Chile

When you are in Chile enjoying Patagonia, you might as well travel to Easter Island. This mythical island is a UNESCO heritage site since 1995. The island is home to the Moai, the 887 ‘head’ statues created by the early Rapa Nui people.

This island is one of the most remote islands in the world, with incredible mysteries, beaches, volcanoes, and ancestral culture, it is defiantly worth a visit.

GALAPAGOS ISLANDS, ECUADOR

The Galapagos Islands are part of Ecuador and are situated in the Pacific Ocean.  The islands emerged from the bottom of the sea in the form of astonishing volcanic upheavals. The archipelago consists of 19 islands – 13 large and 6 small.  Galapagos became world famous because of the evolution theory of Charles Darwin.

Living treasures such as the Giant Tortoise, Blue-Footed Booby, Flightless Cormorant, Galapagos Fur Seals, Galápagos Flamingo, Sea Lions, and Penguins are just some of the species that can be found on this island.

MACHU PICCHU, PERU

Perhaps one of the best known UNESCO Sites in the world, Machu Picchu in Peru is located in the middle of a tropical rainforest and was a pearl of the Inca Empire.

Machu Picchu stands 2,430 m above sea-level and it’s quite a climb if you wish to see this marvel (good workout 😉

A popular tourist destination and one that is on many people’s bucket lists, Machu Picchu defies belief with its amazing architectural achievements and natural beauty. There is nowhere else like it in the world and thus something you should see in your lifetime.

DUBAI

When you think of expensive holidays, Dubai with all its glitz and glamour pops into your head quite quickly. Dubai is where a lot of the celebrities go on their holidays. With plenty of extensive and luxurious 5-star hotels to choose from, Dubai is your ultimate luxe vacation.

You can go glamping (the fancier version of camping) in the desert. Ride a camel, drive a 4-wheel drive, go sandboarding, enjoy local music and belly dancing all whilst being in the best care, with some of the worlds best hospitality.

This is my list of current dream destinations. I am sure in the future things will change, most likely I will add destinations to this list but hopefully, I will be able to cross some off the list as well. Although, daydreaming about all the places to go and sights to see is all but half the fun.

If you had all the money in the world, where would like to travel to? Let me know in the comments below.
