HOW TO CREATE A MOTIVATIONAL VISION BOARD

Vision boards, who hasn’t seen one these days! They can be a great visual representation of your hopes and dreams and can help you spring into action and turns those dreams into a reality. They are fun to create and will help you to stay grounded and focused! BONUS!

A vision board is a board or arrangement of images, quotes and visual ideas, that represents whatever you want to be, do or have in your life. Essentially keeping a vision board close by, gives you laser focus when it comes to what you want to create in your life.

In this blog post, I will show you how you can create a vision board online. To either help you with your wanderlust, your money issues or your blogging dreams or whatever you envision in your life.. Mmmm cake, I’m envisioning a delicious piece of cake right now haha!

WHAT CAN YOU INCLUDE ON A VISION BOARD?

I think that you can include anything you want on your personal board. Below are some general ideas that you could put on your board:

YOUR DREAM

Have you been dreaming about something ever since you were little? Or even just recently? Add it to your board to visualize it, make sure its an image that resonates with you personally, otherwise I can’t imagine it having much impact.

Some examples:

  • Your dream home
  • Car
  • Wedding
  • lifestyle
  • Body
  • Holiday
  • Animals
  • Husband – Ryan Gosling 😉

MATERIAL WANTS AND NEEDS

This is more the materialistic side of the board. I am personally not really a materialistic person, so I didn’t add anything to my board from this section but definitely go for it if it’s your thing.

For example:

  • Jewelry – the perfect ring, necklace, bracelet etc
  • An expensive handbag
  • A designer set of sunglasses
  • The latest iPhone or I-watch
  • An extensive pay or boots

YOUR BUSINESS/BLOG OR WORKLIFE

Not everyone wants to start their own company. But if you do: what would it look like?

  • What business do you want
  • What lifestyle do you want
  • What industry would you like to work in
  • In your dreams: how much would you earn from that job/business

THE MINDSET

How you want to feel. How you want to make other people feel. What words you’d like people to use to describe you. What quotes inspire you and what focus words keep you grounded.

MY VISION BOARD

For the following things I want to do in the next few years of my life:

  • Get a golden-retriever
  • Travel the world
  • Be healthy
  • Find love
  • Own my own house with a swimming pool
  • Have a successful business

Vision boards should be filled with the ideal, the ultimate. Don’t be afraid to dream big and be extravagant! It’s ok! We all have hopes and dreams, so this exercise can literally be done by anybody and everybody!

HOW TO CREATE A VISION BOARD

In order to create my vision board, I used PicMonkey.

QUICK STEPS:

  1. Go to www.picmokey.com and click on Collage
  2. Click the Add your own button at the top of the Overlays tab to add your favorite inspiring images.
  3. Design away with text and collection of overlays.
  4. Save your vision board to your computer or Hub.

STEP 1 – GETTING STARTED

To get started with your digital vision board, hover over Collage on the PicMonkey homepage. Click on ‘Collage’ itself to open up a blank canvas.

STEP 2 – SQUARE DEAL

Browse the internet and search for amazing pictures that motivate you. As said before this can be anything.

For high-quality pictures, you can use unsplash.com

When you have found all your pictures, click on the second icon on the left. Here you can choose how many squares you would like for your board. I went with 5*4.

The click on the top icon and add the images that you have found there. Add them one by one to the board. You can still remove or change them if you wish and do this until you are happy with the way it looks.

STEP 3 – OVERLAYS

When you are happy with the first part of your board, you can click on ‘Send to Editor‘ at the top left.

Here you can add text, cute designs, and add some more pictures to make the board a bit more organic/authentic to you.

Click on the butterfly to open up the overlay tap. If you want to add some pictures, click on ‘Add your own‘ and upload your pictures.

As you can see underneath I have added a few more pictures, make it a bit more playful.

I decided not to add any text, but If you would like to, you can add it by clicking on the ‘Tt’ sign on the left. You have a variety of different letter types to choose from.

You can play around with this and add is you’d like. Schermafbeelding 2018-06-17 om 20.45.53.png

Stumbled across this post and wanted to leave some love! I just made a vision board for the first time a couple months ago and included a little bit of all of that stuff on it. It was so fun and therapeutic. I actually made mine with magazine clippings, so it was kind of like playing arts and crafts with the universe 🙃, but love the idea of using a photo editor. Will have to try that next time!

Rooting for your visions to become reality! Funny enough, we seem to have quite a few goals in common 🙂
