ADVENTURE SERIES #3 THE GREAT ADVENTURE BUCKET LIST

ADVENTURE SERIES #3 THE GREAT ADVENTURE BUCKET LIST

Everyone loves a great adventure and everyone (well at least I’m sure) would hope to lead an adventurous life full of wonder, adrenaline, and exploration of this incredible planet. So, if you ever find yourself daydreaming in the office of something more exciting or are looking to book an activity or trip and just can’t seem to find that hmmm that “thing” that you want to do, then this bucket list is for you! Heck! Who am I kidding it’s for everyone!!

So go ahead start now! Start crossing off all those dreams and checking off all the adventures that you’ve only wished of going on! I dare you 😉

□ SWIM WITH WHALE SHARKS

POOOOOOOOY! What a way to start……. Now, this is one adventure I myself can NOT wait to have. Now I know this sounds rather frightening but don’t be alarmed even though it says “WHALE” shark which automatically makes you think of jaws! Because, well its nature is actually quite the opposite. They pose no threat to humans and don’t seem to be the slightest bit bothered with us swimming next to them. CAN’T WAIT! (seriously google it )

□ GO SKYDIVING

Whether it’s over Interlaken in Switzerland (can see the alps on the way down… not too shabby, not too shabby at all), or over Dubai, or Sydney or in America or wherever you want! This is the closest us humans will get to flying! So why the bloody hell not.

□ WHITEWATER RAFTING

Adrenaline Adrenaline ADRENALINE! One of the best things I have ever done is white water rafting and I highly recommend it to all! For me personally, it was a mixture of fear, laughter, and fun! It’s just go, go, go right from the beginning!

□ VISIT ALL SEVEN CONTINENTS

Wow! I think we all hope to accomplish this in our lifetimes! Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica (probably the trickiest one to get to), Europe and Australasia! (that’s me).

□ GO ON A HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE

Most countries, cities or towns have their form of hot air ballooning and usually, it’s showcasing some beautiful part of that particular area. Most hot air balloons these days include some kind of food or wine (maybe to calm the nerves haha?) while on the ride also. I know there are a lot of people in the world who are deadly afraid of heights, but I swear down that you could do this too! Initial take off is a little frightening but once you’re in the air you will be good to go! TRUST ME, DARLING! (posh British voice lol)

One of the most popular places to go to is Cappadocia in Turkey. Every morning, 150 air balloons are flying over Cappadocia for the sunrise.

□ SCUBA DIVE!!

Whoop whoop! Majestic, beautiful, tranquil, EXCITING! Everyone must do this at least once in their lives. It’s like a whole other world down under the sea! Unda da sea!! The great barrier reef is of course highly recommended especially since it is apparently dying off due to global warming… sniff sniff but there is plenty of places worldwide that are maybe closer haha for you to scuba.

□ CLIMB MT KILIMANJARO

Probably the greatest trekking summit in all the world!… I mean, I know there will be people out there who say its Everest or Aconcagua, but Mt Kilimanjaro – although it’s tough it is also achievable for most people. Set amongst the beautiful plains of Africa and at a height of 5,895m, this incredible climb is sure to tick all those adventure WOW factors.

□ VISIT AN ENDANGERED TRIBE IN THE AMAZON

Now first a pre-warning: obviously do your research before actually doing this one. You never know if you may just come across a tribe that doesn’t like any outsiders – wink wink you know what I mean? Not planning on dying on this adventure, right?

In many parts of the Amazon, tourism is providing a great lifeline to a lot these cultures and the few who are open to people visiting, tend to have their own set up going for them, so they provide accommodation, tours, food, etc
This would be just such an honor and incredible experience to be had, to be able to take a glimpse inside a unique culture but to remember to also do it, respectively, responsibly and sensitively.

SWIM IN THE DEVILS POOL AT VICTORIA FALLS

You know those creepy photos all over the internet of adults swimming in a river, literally hanging off one of the worlds biggest waterfalls… yea this is it lol! If you are up for the challenge of literally living life over the edge or just wanting to see the falls at their finest than this is for you.

□ SLEEP AT EVEREST BASE CAMP IN NEPAL

It’s a 14-day trek there and 14 days back with not one shower – eeeeek but apparently well worth it! I mean its Everest base camp! Some of the most iconic mountaineers of all time have also slept in this exact place! Who cares if you’re a little dirty or a lot haha!!

□ LEARN TO SURF

Whether its on a boogie board or an actual surfboard. On the little shore waves or the big epic whoppa waves… learning to surf would be a great skill for all to have. Plenty of amazing swim, surf and safety tips for in and around the ocean, so I guarantee no matter what that you’ll have fun but be earning a lifelong skill at the same time.

□ GO ON AN AFRICAN SAFARI

Not only on an adventure bucket list but on all bucket lists haha!! And what an incredible sight + adventure to be had. Seeing animals like elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, lions, tigers and many more in their natural habitat.

□ VISIT AN ACTIVE VOLCANO

WHOAH this one sounds pretty scary but if you’re up for it can be a very cool sight to see. Drive, take a helicopter ride or even hike one of the many active volcanos around the world… choose your pick from Hawaii to Iceland or even Japan to Italy.

□ ICE CLIMBING IN ALASKA

Or Ice climbing in general, be it in Scotland, Norway, Switzerland or New Zealand. A bit more of a dangerous/adrenaline building adventure compared to most, however a definite once in a lifetime experience!

□ HORSEBACK RIDE A MOUNTAIN TRAIL

I have asked many people what their favorite lifetime adventure has been and so many have said going horseback riding in the mountains wherever their destination had taken them and I can only imagine how wonderful it would be… who doesn’t love horses right? just make sure to choose a trustee company – horses can be deadly if not trained correctly.

□ TREK TO MACHU PICCHU

One of the 7 modern wonders of the world, Machu Picchu is an incredible and breathless experience which leave you mesmerized and full of amazement in its wonderful sight.

□ SWIM IN ICELAND’S BLUE LAGOON

THE EVER SO POPULAR EVER SO FAMOUS EVER SO INSTA WORTHY “Blue Lagoon” I’m sure just like me, you guys have seen pictures everywhere over recent years of this lagoon and dang it! I can completely understand why. It looks amazing!

□ SPEND THE NIGHT IN A TREEHOUSE

Who wouldn’t want to spend the night in a treehouse! I mean a room with a view!! yes please haha nawww it sounds so mystical and magical and nowadays a lot of them are very fancy 😉 so I’m sure there are plenty of options to suit any budget and style preference.

WALK THE SPANISH EL CAMINO TRAIL

You will find many of all ages and nationalities walking the Camino trail for many different purposes and all completing the track at their own pace and way…. My grandpa completed the trail when he was 80 years old for charity so it really goes to show that ALL ages and fitness levels can do this. So get those boots that were made for walking on and have a go at completing this infamous track.

□ TRY A GO AT BOBSLEDDING

Visit the famous Olympic bobsled run in Whistler and join a professional bobsledder in the cockpit where you will reach speeds of up to 145km and like my fave Jamaicans say ” feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up, its bobsled time!” haha

□ HAVE A GO AT PARASAILING

You know those parachute looking things with screaming people attached to them flying at the back of speed boats? yea those thingys…. you follow me? that’s parasailing and it looks totally awesome! Both a thrill ride and epic views rolled into one activity – WINNING!

□ CAVE DIVING

Classed as an extreme sport as you are literally diving into underwater filled caves argh! You would for sure have to have great confidence with diving and have pretty much no fear of enclosed spaces… probably one I’ll have to sit it out (I MEAN CLAUSTROPHIA) but if this is for you then ride on 😉

Obviously, I would have loved to written out a 100 point long adventure bucket list but with the chaos of life, school and work.. well, ain’t nobody got time for that! (at least at the moment anyway).

I tried adding a few different items in the list than what you maybe would usually think of, you know to keep things interesting 😉 so I hope you enjoyed today’s post and find some sort of inspiration from one of the above bucket list items. I think its really important to have goals or bucket lists to remind us of all the fun that is to be had amongst the stresses of work and life.
