The Great Barrier Reef in Northern Queensland is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1981. Due to pollution and bleaching, the reef is in a bit of trouble. When I, therefore, had the chance of snorkelling at two different locations during a snorkel safari I jumped at the chance. If I had known that there would be a storm and that the ocean was going to be choppy, I might have reconsidered…. But there was no way out. In this post, I will take you along on a trip with Ocean Safari. I will show you the two snorkelling sites, what it is like to take this trip, what you can expect and what happens when massive waves interfere with your trip.
Airlie beach is one of my favourite getaways within Australia! I love travelling to this quaint and quiet town to de-stress from city life about once a year. The last time I travelled there was for my birthday and I stayed for 6 days and loved every minute of it. I thought It would be fun to create an itinerary so that you know where to go, what to see and what’s worth your time! So, I have written this 2-day Airlie Beach itinerary to give you some guidance! Because this town and its surroundings are worth checking out!
Do not swim in rivers or the ocean is something you hear often when mentioning that you are traveling to Queensland. This is because they are home to salties aka Salt Water Crocodiles. These enormous and fascinating monsters can be found in most rivers and oceans in Queensland. It speaks for itself that I avoided these like the plague! I did not want to encounter one in the flesh….But I did want to spot some from the safety of a tour and ended up doing the Daintree River Cruise with the Daintree River Cruise Centre in the hopes of spotting a croc and see the rainforest from a different angle. To find out if this is worth the troubles, I’ve written this extensive guide to give you some guidance.
This spring, I was lucky enough to visit Queensland, Australia again. I went on a 20-day road trip through some of the prettiest spots in the country. Queensland is filled with stunning national parks, reef filled oceans, rainforests and lots of spectacular wildlife. One of the most spectacular places I visited during this trip was Cape Hillsborough National Park. The national park can be found near MacKay and offers some of the most spectacular natural sights! From kangaroos and wallabies on the beach during sunrise to imposing prehistoric rock formations and stunning untouched rainforests. When you set your alarm at 5.15 am you know it’s going to be spectacular (Or a least, it better be). My alarm went off at this gauzily hour to watch a sunrise with kangaroos and wallabies playing and chilling on the beach whilst the sun slowly rose behind them. In this blog post, I will take you along this incredible sight at Cape Hillsborough National Park. I will show you many photos and I will give you my honest opinion about whether it is worth the early morning wake up call. Let’s explore the kangaroos of Cape Hillsborough National Park!
The Capricorn Caves are a great destination to check out during a trip to Queensland. In this cave system, you can explore spectacular caves set in a limestone ridge and even spot little bats. These amazing caves are located north of Rockhampton (Just a 23-kilometer drive) and are winners of many major tourism and environment awards, they are also eco-tourism accredited. Home to ‘the cathedral’, bats, tree roots, larges and small chambers, these caves are pretty interesting to explore! In this blog post, I will take you along to these caves and show you what it is like to take the Cathedral Tour within the cave system. What will you encounter, is it worth your time and effort and more. Let’s dive in, shall we…
Hervey Bay in Queensland is known as a whale-watching paradise. Due to its unique location, whales can be found here for months on end. They deliver their calves there and spend a couple of weeks in the waters before they swim further. In September of this year, I was in Hervey Bay, and I could not leave this town without a whale-watching cruise. So at 6.30 am my alarm went off and we headed to the Spirit of Hervey Bay for a morning cruise.

The last couple of weekends I have spent wandering around some of Sydney’s eastern suburbs. One of my favorites is Watson’s Bay. Located at the end of South Head Peninsula, Watsons Bay is surrounded by the calm waters of Sydney Harbour on one side and the emerald Pacific Ocean on the other, offering stunning views throughout. The suburb has a lot of history and is home to some of the best restaurants in the city. In this mini-guide, I will show you all the cool spots, restaurants and walks you should when exploring this fancy suburb.
Sydney is by far the most amazing city I have ever lived in. Whenever I have time I love to go out and explore new things each time. Incredible coastal walks, hidden little beaches, UNESCO WORLD heritage sites and some of the most amazing sunsets you will ever encounter. Six days in Sydney is definitely not enough to see everything this amazing metropolis has to offer – but it’s a great start. A lot of travellers start out in Sydney and then travel up the coast, so they have limited time to see everything. I have therefore written this all-comprehensive Sydney 6 days itinerary (Including one day to the Blue Mountains and Jervis Bay National Park) to give you the best Sydney has got to offer. I will go over all of your best options for things to do, places to visit, and lots of helpful Sydney travel tips.
If you are not from Australia nor if you have ever been here, you might be under the impression that kangaroos are hopping along the street of Sydney on a daily basis. Whilst yes, every now and then one gets lots, it doesn’t happen often, and it is an occurrence that ‘stops the nation’. (When it happens to Sydney CBD) There are however lots of unique and beautiful creatures that you can bump into on a daily basis in the city. From beautiful cockatoos to parakeets and massive spiders. I, therefore, made a comprehensive list of all the amazing you could see in Sydney.
If you are a travel blogger, lifestyle blogger, an Instagram influencer, vlogger or travel fanatic you must have seen those amazing photos of people swimming and chilling with pigs on a tropical island. So if you are wanting to go swim with these adorable piggy’s then read on. I will show you where to go, what to do and which is the best spot to go to.
If you have been following this blog for a while, then you know that I love nothing better then strapping on my walking boots and do a coastal walk during my days off. After living in Sydney for many years now, you’d think I had done them all, but the other week, I did the Watson Bay to Rose Bay walk for the first time – say what now! If you like a relatively easy walk, filled with amazing secluded beaches, and ridiculously beautiful city and harbor views, then I think you will like this walk as well. Follow me along this 8K walk and see some of Sydney’s best sights during the Watson Bay to Rose Bay walk.
I have been getting some questions on my Social Media (Instagram and Twitter) about the photography tools that I use, love and recommend. I thought I would write a quick post for you guys to that you can have a complete list of all the photography equipment I use to shoot, edit and process photos for my blog and social media accounts. If you are planning to travel to Bali, then I am certain you have heard of the spectacular Tegalalang Rice Terrace. If you are planning to visit one (Hint: you should) then make sure to read this post. During my first trip to Bali, I did a full-day guided tour with a local. Besides the mental monkeys at the monkey sanctuary, I also stopped at the Tegalalang Rice Terrace. The stunning Rice Terrace is part of the Cultural Landscape of Bali Province UNESCO World Heritage Site, comprises of lush emerald-green terrace’s still being worked by local rice farmers. You truly have to see it in order to grasp its beauty. So here’s everything you need to know about a quick trip to Bali’s famous rice fields in Ubud, the Tegallalang Rice Terrace.
Most cities don’t get better after the sun has set, but strangely Sydney does! Especially Circular Quay. With the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House as its main attractions, it truly becomes a spectacle after dark. Especially the Opera House is a sight to behold after dark. I have written an extensive blog post already on where to see Sydney by night, so make sure to check that one out as well, but today I will take you up close to this Sydney Icon after the sun has set.
What is better than hopping on a plane and a couple of hours later you end up on a volcanic island with some unique ‘moon-like’ landscape, blissful weather and cool beaches. This is exactly what I did during a trip to Europe last year. Lanzarote (Spain) is one of the Canary Islands off the coast of West Africa is known for its year-round warm weather, beaches, and volcanic landscape. Here is what I did during my holiday there.
