DAINTREE RAINFOREST RIVER CRUISE

Do not swim in rivers or the ocean is something you hear often when mentioning that you are traveling to Queensland. This is because they are home to salties aka Salt Water Crocodiles. These enormous and fascinating monsters can be found in most rivers and oceans in Queensland.  It speaks for itself that I avoided these like the plague! I did not want to encounter one in the flesh….But I did want to spot some from the safety of a tour and ended up doing the Daintree River Cruise with the Daintree River Cruise Centre in the hopes of spotting a croc and see the rainforest from a different angle.  To find out if this is worth the troubles, I’ve written this extensive guide to give you some guidance.

CAPE HILLSBOROUGH NATIONAL PARK

This spring, I was lucky enough to visit Queensland, Australia again. I went on a 20-day road trip through some of the prettiest spots in the country. Queensland is filled with stunning national parks, reef filled oceans, rainforests and lots of spectacular wildlife.  One of the most spectacular places I visited during this trip was Cape Hillsborough National Park. The national park can be found near MacKay and offers some of the most spectacular sights! From Kangaroos on the beach during sunset to Prehistoric rock formations and the rainforest meets the ocean.   In this post, I will show you what you can see and do during your visit to this park. Let’s dive in and explore this incredible national park….

When you set your alarm at 5.15 am you know it’s going to be spectacular (Or a least, it better be). In this blog post, I will take you along this incredible sight at Cape Hillsborough National Park. I will show you many photos and I will give you my honest opinion about whether it is worth the early morning wake up call.  Let’s explore the kangaroos of Cape Hillsborough National Park!

The Capricorn Caves Rockhampton | The Cathedral Tour

The Capricorn Caves are a great destination to check out during a trip to Queensland. In this cave system, you can explore spectacular caves set in a limestone ridge and even spot little bats. These amazing caves are located north of Rockhampton (Just a 23-kilometer drive) and are winners of many major tourism and environment awards, they are also eco-tourism accredited. Home to ‘the cathedral’, bats, tree roots, larges and small chambers, these caves are pretty interesting to explore! In this blog post, I will take you along to these caves and show you what it is like to take the Cathedral Tour within the cave system. What will you encounter, is it worth your time and effort and more. Let’s dive in, shall we…

Whale watching in Hervey Bay | Everything you need to know

Hervey Bay in Queensland is known as a whale-watching paradise. Due to its unique location, whales can be found here for months on end. They deliver their calves there and spend a couple of weeks in the waters before they swim further.  In September of this year, I was in Hervey Bay, and I could not leave this town without a whale-watching cruise. So at 6.30 am my alarm went off and we headed to the Spirit of Hervey Bay for a morning cruise.
