A MINI BREAK IN AIRLIE BEACH, QUEENSLAND

Every year for my birthday I go on a mini holiday, my holiday last year was very interesting as I ended up in the hospital. So this year I decided to stay a little closer to home and go to Airlie beach the gateway to the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef. I was also here in 2017 after I became a hotel manager for a quick break and I absolutely loved it. So, I thought I would come back for round two.  Underneath is a bit of a photo diary of my holiday. I hope you enjoy.

LODGING REVIEW | BLUE HORIZON, AIRLIE BEACH

Located in the hub to the Whitsundays and near the Great Barrier Reef lies Airlie Beach. This town is perfect for a mini break from busy city life and it lies only a 3-hour flight from Sydney.  Located on the edge of the city center lies an apartment hotel, Blue Horizon. Located a 6-minute walk from the Cruise Whitsundays terminal at the Port of Airlie, these sophisticated apartments are also a 12-minute walk from Airlie Beach and 3.8 km from Conway National Park.  Underneath you will find my honest review of my apartment and its additional facilities.

SNORKELING AT THE GREAT BARRIER REEF

For my birthday I had booked a short trip up to Airlie Beach, Queensland and planned on spending one day of my trip snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef. I have always been fascinated by the GBR and so I booked a full day cruise with a snorkel excursion departing from the Port of Airlie.  I couldn’t have been more excited to explore the famous and imposing reefs! In this post, I will show you what it was like, which fishes and other wildlife I encountered on this once in a lifetime adventure.
