THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE

The Sydney opera house is probably one of the most iconic buildings in the world! Who has not seen the iconic images of the unique building at Sydney’s harbor? If you have never seen this building up close, then you probably have never realized how crazy it looks! I for example always thought it was 1 large building, but there are instead 4 separate buildings! Mind is blown, right? The other week on a lovely sunny autumn day, I took my fancy pants DSLR camara to Circular Quay and took some pictures of this building up close! Curious what it looks like then read on….

A MINI-BREAK IN HOBART, TASMANIA

Last week I was on a short mini-break in Tasmania to de-stress, enjoy life and just have a break from my day-to-day working live (managing a hotel is not as easy as most of you will think, its a high-stress job I tell ya). I will be writing lots of cool guides etc about my holiday, but I thought I would share some pictures and a daily guide first. So this post is a sort of photo diary, but then better. (I think)

HOBART TRAVEL GUIDE

Hobart in Tasmania is a hidden little gem. I absolutely fell in love with the cute little city during my mini-break in March this year. The city has the charm of an old harbour town, with lots of historic buildings, a cute harbour and lots of pretty views.  Just a short scoot over Bass Straight and you’re in a magical land that’s so naturally beautiful it takes your breath away. There’s mountains, forests, national parks and rustic oceans for days. In my opinion, this makes Hobart the perfect place to relax from city life or just a great place for a mini getaway. In this post, you will find lots of information on what to do, see and eat when traveling to Hobart, the capital city of Australia’s island state Tasmania.

SYDNEY’S MILLION DOLLAR VIEW | OBSERVATORY HILL AT NIGHT

For a park with a million dollar view, it’s hard to go past the one on Observatory Hill. The park offers sweeping, panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge right in the city center. Which sounds like the perfect night out for me and my trusty camera. So on a cold summers evening (Sydney, what the heck are you doing), I went to Observatory Hill for a sunset and night shoot. In his post, I will show you some of my best shots as well as some advice on what works and what does not work.

CREMORNE POINT WALK HARBOUR WALK

Cremorne Point is one of the loveliest of the harbor’s peninsulas, and the walk around its forested foreshore gives you some of the most amazing cities views there is. Million-dollar mansions, green parks, stunning yachts, the chirping of birds….and hundreds of spiders. The only downside of this walk YUCK they were everywhere! But don’t let these creepy crawlers deter you from doing this walk! If you follow me on Instagram, then you have already seen some of my pictures of this walk. I had such a blast and I loved taking pictures (so be prepared for quite a few lol) In this post I will show you all the amazing thing you will encounter on this walk.

AUSTRALIA DAY IN SYDNEY | A PHOTOSHOOT AT SYDNEY HARBOUR

For Christmas Santa gave me some money to spend however I wanted. Since I have been into photography lately I decided to spend that money on a new lens. (I know, I am such a dork, but I like doing it, so leave me alone haha)  Since I already have a zoom and a standard lens, I wanted to invest in a lens that is great for astrophotography as well as landscape photography.  I was adviced by the internet as well as by people who actually know what they are doing to look into getting a wide-angle lens. After extensive research, I found a lens that was not too extensive and got some great reviews. I bought it and tested it out during the Australia Day long weekend.  Underneath are some pictures of Sydney harbor during sunset and after dark with my new fancy pants lens.
