NEWTOWN’S AMAZING GRAFFITI LANES | A SELF-GUIDED WALKING TOUR

Newtown in Sydney’s inner west is a unique neighborhood in Sydney. With a thriving music scene, many amazing restaurants and lots of unique clothing shops making Newtown a vibrant inner-city neighborhood. But the main reason for me to venture to this neck of the woods is because of its infamous graffiti scene. Newtown has a large number of excellent artworks to check out through a vast area. So, if you want to check out some of these cool paintings as well, I have made a short self-guided 1-hour walk that will take you along some of the largest and most known pieces.

WHAT TO DO DURING WINTER IN SYDNEY

That time of year has come once again. Where the days are shorter and cooler, but the fireplace is warm and your boyfriend doesn’t mind cuddling you. As they used to say on Game of Thrones: Winter has come. Now, this might come as a shock to a lot of you, but it does get actually quite cold in Sydney. If you’d go to the Blue Mountains, you can actually get some snow, I kid you not. Now, please don’t cancel your ticket if you were planning to come during winter, because there is still so much to do. In this blog post, I will show you just some of the things that you can do during winter in Sydney.

LUNA PARK SYDNEY | A FUN EVENING OUT

This past weekend I wandered over to Luna Park at Milsons Point, Sydney. The park is an amusement attraction and was established in 1935, amazingly it still contains traditional midway games and rides while of course still offering your 21st-century amusements as well.  The older charm that this park offers, the more the modern generation can catch a glimpse of the past.

A DAY AT TARONGA ZOO | SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

I love going to the zoo, so I took my fancy-pancy camera with me to take some pictures.  Taronga Zoo is Sydney’s local zoo and can be reached by a 15-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay.  Taronga Zoo cares for over 4000 animals from over 350 species, many of which are threatened. It also offers amazing city views and loads of great picture opportunities, as well as being situated amongst one of Sydney’s most beautiful national parks. This is one place that is sure to impress.  Check out some of my pictures below.

STUNNING DAY AT BALMORAL BEACH

What is better than spending a Saturday afternoon at the beach! Especially when it is supposed to be autumn and we still have summer temperatures (27 degrees the day I went to the beach) This weekend I ended up going to a local beach about 20 minutes from where I live. It is a family-friendly beach because it is a harbor beach and therefore you don’t get many waves. It has lovely clear blue water so you can see a lot of fish if you snorkel or wear goggles.

THE SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE WALK

Last weekend the weather was amazing and I was bored out of my mind. It was Sunday morning, the sun was shining, and I felt like stretching my legs after a long week at work. Since I live in North Sydney, the Bridge Walk is one of my favorite walks to do when I want to go for a quick and easy walk. Since I just started blogging, I brought my fancy camera with me to take you along. I ended up walking over the Bridge, then via The Rocks (Sydney’s oldest neighborhood filled with cute laneways, shops, and restaurants) to the Opera House which took me about 2 hours. I ended up taking the bus back home because I was exhausted. It was a bit warmer than anticipated so I was way overdressed and sweating my ass off – worth it though, I love doing this walk. Check out my post underneath for lots of pictures.
